                  TRAINING COURSE FOR CHAPLAINS’ CARE MINISTRY

 

Step I -- Basic Course Requirements.

1. $35.00 fee for training and books

2. One 2-hour class per week for a period of 8 weeks

3. On the job training with a certified chaplain which will include visiting local nursing homes.

 

Step II –After Classroom Training.

1. Upon completion of the “8 week basic course requirements”, you will be                serving as a Chaplain in Training assigned to a Certified Chaplain for a  90 day period,  visiting with the other Chaplain once a week for the 90 days. During the 90 days, you will begin turning in monthly reports from the previous month served and membership fee to CCM by the 1st of every month.

2. After the 90 days in which you have served faithfully with the Certified                  Chaplain, you will be given a date to be interviewed and a date to be commissioned.

3. After the commissioning you will become a Certified Chaplain and will be expected to have a nursing home to serve faithfully on the same day every week.

         

Step III –Ordination – This is not necessary, only If desired.

After a year of faithful service in a nursing home facility you may apply for ordination, including being faithful with monthly reports and monthly membership fees.  You will have a questionnaire to fill out and you will be interviewed.  The Board will make a decision concerning your ordination and if you are approved, the Board will notify you of the date set for your ordination.

 

Step IV -- Basic Responsibilities as a Chaplain

1. To fulfill your responsibilities at your care facility

2. Reports are due on the 1st of each month beginning the next month after your 8 week training.           

3. To pay a membership fee of $10.00 per month after your 8 week training (due at the first of each month; also can be paid quarterly, semi-annually, or annually)

         

Step V -- Expectation

To attend CCM meetings, socials, and updating training seminars, if possible.  Failure to meet the above responsibilities for a period of 2 months will cause the Board to consider whether your membership with CCM will be continued.
